About Robin Feldman, LCSW

I am the founder and director of Path to Peace Psychotherapy LLC. For the past 18 years, I've been a psychotherapist working as a private practitioner. I am grateful to have had the opportunity to work with and learn from a diversity of clients over the years. I specialize in the treatment of anxiety disorders including Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Adoption is a sub specialty of mine as well as a great interest.

I treat kids, teens and adults who suffer from anxiety, worry and/or fear often because of past traumatic experiences, losses and/or complicated grief. I focus initially on developing a trusting relationship while teaching coping strategies to better manage difficult emotions. My particular approach is collaborative with a focus of building on your core strengths and inner resources. Honesty and warmth are essential in working effectively with my clients. Teens in particular know when someone is not being authentic. I take a more active approach with adults, meeting them where they are and helping them feel safe to move forward.

I use a variety of approaches, including EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy, to help client's of all ages heal from recent and/or childhood trauma. EMDR therapy ultimately enables you to move beyond, or completely eliminate, triggering situations, helping you to feel empowered and hopeful about your future.

From the outset, I meet you where you are while offering an abundance of encouragement, without being pushy. I use humor when possible, balancing the seriousness of your pain and worry with compassion.

I completed my training in EMDR therapy over 20 years ago. In addition to using a strengths-based approach, other modalities I use include sand-tray play, and mindfulness. I am certified in EMDR therapy and have extensive training and practice in Ego States therapy.

In 1992, I earned a Masters degree in Social Work from Simmons College (now University) School of Social Work.

I am licensed to practice in Virginia and Maryland and offer both in-person and telehealth counseling.
